1. Planning
- The product or service to be verified is identified.
- Scope, system boundaries, functional unit, and data sources are defined.
- A basic risk assessment is conducted for data quality and critical processes.
2. Document Review
- The CFP (Carbon Footprint of Product) Report is examined, including methodology, boundaries, assumptions, and data sources.
- Compliance with TS EN ISO 14067 is checked (full/partial CFP, cut-off criteria, allocation methods, etc.).
3. Data Verification
- Primary data (measurements, production records) are compared with statements in the report.
- Secondary data (databases, literature) are checked for timeliness.
- Simple tests of energy and mass balance are conducted.
4. On-site Assessment
- Critical production stages are observed on-site.
- Calibration records of measuring instruments are reviewed.
- Short interviews are conducted with personnel collecting the data.
5. Evaluation of Findings
- Nonconformities are classified as critical/major/minor.
- Issues of uncertainty or improvement needs are noted.

A verification opinion is prepared based on the findings:
Positive – full compliance with the standard
Conditional – minor corrections required
Negative – significant nonconformities
6. Reporting
- A concise Verification Report is prepared, including scope, method, on-site findings, nonconformities, and verification opinion.
- It is signed by the authorized verifier and recorded by the organization.
7. Competence
- The verifier must meet the competence requirements of ISO 14066.
- Required technical knowledge: life cycle assessment, greenhouse gas calculation, and sector experience.
